Aaron Snider

Born and raised near Clinton, Oklahoma, Aaron is a 5th generation cattle producer and wheat farmer. He worked primarily for his dad until he was 24 years old as the second man in a two man operation. His work ethic and determination was formed by his idea that “There is only one way to do something and that is THE RIGHT WAY (no matter how bad it sucks or long it takes).” When he wasn’t needed at home, he worked several odd jobs: from all aspects of new residential construction to feedyards to overseeing a 400 head cow herd with around 1300 head of steers turned out on wheat every winter. When Aaron moved away from home, his father decided to retire from farming, but still runs a small cow herd to this day.

Aaron attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he met lifelong friends and, in his free time, studied Wildland Firefighting and Parks and Recreation Management: with an emphasis on law enforcement. Firefighting won and in 2014, he accepted a position as a career firefighter in Clinton and served there for 3 years until accepting a job offer in the OKC metro in 2017.

While still in Clinton, his passion for leather work was born. Aaron ordered a radio strap from a company and had to wait 18 weeks for it to be delivered. As he thought about it, he determined that he would wait for his to come, but that he could build others for friends and coworkers. A friend, and fellow firefighter, mentioned one day that he used to work with leather and had made a few saddles. He graciously took Aaron in and showed him the basics. Working together for 2 days, the pair made a tally book cover and a koozie. Through books, online content, and a few mentors across the nation, Aaron has grown a skillset through trial and error and he continues to learn something new every day. Being involved in the fire service and western lifestyle for so long allows him to have hands on experience with research and development: knowing what does and does not work.

In 2020, Aaron welcomed a daughter into the world and needed to get out of the big city and back to his roots. He found a small horse property belonging to some family friends in Blanchard and made the move in early 2021. Ironically, the largest property he has ever lived on happens to have the smallest leather shop that he has ever had to operate in. Building a new shop is on the horizon for 2026.

In his spare time, Aaron enjoys roping, staying active in the equine industry, attending concerts, fishing, and spending time with family. He likes to keep a few good horses, a few good dogs, a few good cattle, and a few goldfish around the place. In their free time, they enjoy exploring outside, building things, spending time with family and fishing.

If you have made it this far, I want to thank you for taking a little glimpse into who I am and how I got here. -Aaron
